Fayette Pinkney was born on January 10, 1948. While attending Overbrook High School she joined The Three Degrees and recorded their first single “Gee Baby I’m Sorry” on Swan Records. Fayette would remain a Three Degree until the Spring of 1976. She recorded a solo album entitled “One Degree” in 1979. Fayette passed away on June 27, 2009.

Cynthia Beaufort Garrison was born on March 3, 1954. During her career she sang background for Millie Jackson, Brandi Wells, and Kathy Sledge. Cynthia joined The Three Degrees in December of 1989 and left in December of 2010 after 21 years. During her years as a Degree she recorded 5 albums with them and most notably the groups one and only Christmas CD in 1998. Cynthia passed away on January 21, 2024.

Janet Harmon joined The Three Degrees in 1963 with Fayette Pinkney and Helen Scott. Her voice can be heard on 95% of the singles on Swan Records. She remained a Three Degree until 1967 and was replaced by Valerie Holiday. She settled in Boston, MA until her death.
